It can be frustrating having to sit at a desk all day. To prevent you from not being able to work out in your office job, Gala Bingo have put together a number of exercises you can do while at work. Even in a very busy job many of these exercises can be done without anyone noticing. Sneaking in these little exercises can also help reduce stress levels and of course help execute those bingo wings!
The Seated Leg Raiser
The Seated Leg Raiser is a good way to stretch and warm up in the office. While sat at your desk, raise one or both of your legs and stretch it/them away from you. Hold this position for at least five seconds before lowering the legs again. Do not let your feet touch the ground and then repeat. If you only lift one leg at a time, alternate between them. This exercise is very easy to do in the office and odds are that nobody will even see that you are doing it. Do this 15 times. If the exercise is too easy, you can make it more challenging by putting a handbag or something equally heavy around your ankles.
Chair Dips
A non-rolling chair is a fantastic tool for exercising your triceps. Sit down on the edge of the chair and hold onto it tightly, placing your left hand on the left side of your body and the right hand on the right side of your body. Plant your feet securely onto the ground and move a step forward so that you are hovering. Make sure that your arms are straight and lift up your body. Then dip your body down until your arms reach a 90 degree angle. Hold this position for a few seconds before lifting your body back up until your arms are straight again. Repeat this exercise 8-10 times.
The Silent Seat Squeeze
To wind down, you should try the Silent Seat Squeeze. All you have to do is tighten your buttocks and try and keep the muscles tense for 5-10 seconds. You can repeat this exercise as often as you like.
A little bit of daily exercise is a great way to keep fit and feel better. You don’t necessarily have to join a gym if you don’t want to. Just doing little exercises like the ones Gala Bingo suggest can really go a long way. Walking the dogs, playing with the kids or just going for a stroll after work are also great ways to help you feel good and sneak some exercise into your daily routine.
