Not only are these healthy, natural kebabs super easy to prepare but they’re also an excellent choice if you’re trying to eat right and stay slim this summer. Each recipe uses a combination of meat, fish, vegetables or fruit and then combines it with a natural marinade to create a full flavoured, healthy kebab that contains no more than 266 calories.
To prepare each of these healthy and natural kebab recipes you will need the following equipment…
– 4 Skewers
– 1 Mixing Bowl
– 1 Sealable Container
– 1 Wooden Spoon
1) Healthy & Natural Chicken & Pepper Lemon Kebabs
If you’re a fan of chicken, then you’ll love these healthy & natural chicken & onion lemon kebabs. They have a light, lemony zest and are full of protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals.
Ingredients:
– 350g Of Chopped Chicken Breasts
– 2 Tablespoons Of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (36ml)
– 2 Tablespoons Of Lemon Juice (36ml)
– 2 Tablespoons Of White Wine Vinegar (36ml)
– 1 Clove Of Crushed Garlic (3g)
– 1 Chopped Large Red Pepper (164g)
– 1 Teaspoon Of Black Pepper (6g)
– 1 Teaspoon Of Dried Basil (6g)
– 1 Teaspoon Of Dried Oregano (6g)
– 1 Teaspoon Of Salt (6g)
Instructions:
1. Place the black pepper, dried basil, dried oregano, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, white wine vinegar and salt in the mixing bowl and mix them together with the wooden spoon to form a marinade.
2. Once the marinade ingredients are fully mixed, add the chopped chicken breasts and onion to the mixing bowl and coat them fully in the marinade.
3. Once the chopped chicken breasts and onion are fully coated in marinade, pour the chopped chicken breasts, chopped onion and marinade into the sealable container and then put the sealable container in the fridge for a minimum of 4 hours to allow the marinade to fully soak into the chopped chicken breasts and onion.
4. If you have time, turn the chopped chicken breasts and onion halfway through to ensure that the marinade soaks into them evenly.
5. When it’s time for the barbecue, remove the sealable container from the fridge and carry it to the barbecue.
6. Place the chunks of chicken breast and onion onto each of the four skewers in an alternating fashion.
7. Cook the healthy & natural chicken & onion lemon kebabs for 5 minutes on each side on a medium to high heat.
8. Enjoy the healthy & natural chicken & lemon kebabs on their own, with some salad or with one of these healthy, natural condiments.
